Jeff Whitson, PE

Jeff was born for this. As a toddler it started with toy plastic hammers and tools, eventually working his way up to the real ones. His father taught construction at the local high school and worked construction during the summer breaks. From the time Jeff was 10 up until he moved off to college he was helping his dad build. Jeff put himself through college working as a framer in the Raleigh area, full-time in the summers and 3-4 days a week during the school semesters. This level of hands-on construction experience has been invaluable to Jeff’s career as an engineer specializing in residential construction. Not just in knowing the Code or what things should look like in the end, but understanding every aspect of the entire process and how they are interconnected. Having this level of command of the knowledge of the process paves the way for efficient, cost-effective, methods and solutions to provide optimal structural performance in Jeff’s engineering designs.
Ted Ziegler, PE
Principal Engineer,
additions/renovations
Ted has had the opportunity to work on various aspects of the construction process. This includes designing the architectural layout of the house or addition, engineering the structural layout, and conducting field visits to perform field engineering work for the structure. Throughout these experiences, Ted has maintained close collaboration with builders, designers, and architects to develop house plans that are permit ready and continues to be available as needed until project completion. His work has taken him to many different types of builders, ranging from small custom builders working on individual houses or renovations to large corporate builders constructing houses with multiple elevations and options. Over the years, Ted has really enjoyed working with the many builders, designers, architects, and homeowners to provide quality work to achieve their goals.
